What are Madame dolls Alexander®?

Panels Madame Alexander® are made by Alexander Doll Company. The company was founded by Madame Beatrice Alexander Behrman, born to Russian immigrants, on March 9, 1895. Her mother named her Bertha, but Madame Alexander later changed her name to Beatrice because she thought Beatrice was more elegant. Young Bertha often played with dolls waiting to repair her father in a doll hospital. Since she was always surrounded by them, she developed love for dolls and wanted to create her own. Despite these challenges, her parents encouraged her to work and study hard. She even managed to complete a high school, a rare performance for young women in her neighborhood. The work of the metal she learned from her parents allowed her to build a doll empire that would eventually make her an extremely richer woman. The first doll she created was the nurse of the Red Cross. In 1923, with only $ 1,600 USD (USD), she founded her now famous companyOst Alexander Doll Company. Her fine, handmade dolls grew rapidly in popularity.

The company was the first doll company to create a doll based on a licensed character. This character was Scarlett from away with the wind . Soon more dolls were created on the basis of characters from the popular films of that time.

Alexander Doll Company was also the first to make dolls of living people. Madame Alexander® dolls were created according to Queen Elizabeth, other royal family members and even the famous Dionane Quintuplets. The company introduced the first feature fashion doll in the 1950s called Cissy. These Madame Alexander® enchanting dolls wore Haute couture clothing.

In 1988, when Alexander was 93 years old, it sold the company and served only as a design consultant. A year later she died on October 3, 1990. After her deathThe company suffered financial problems before it was eventually purchased in 1995 by a breakthrough partnership of Kaizen.
