What are succulent plants?

Succulent plants are plants that contain special tissues that can store water. These tissues may be in leaves, stems or roots. A well -known example of a succulent plant is a cactus. These plants are also called fat plants. The term fat plants are likely to come because succulents tend to have more meat or swollen than other plants.

Many succulents have evolved in hot climate and together with the ability to store water usually have additional adaptations to allow them to prosper in hot and arid places. For example, many succulent plants have a compact shape and reduced or even absent leaves. This reduces the surface area through which the water is lost. Succulents often have fewer dentists or pores, in their leaves and stems, which again results in less water evaporation. Another common adaptation observed in many juicy plant species is the surface covering of hair or spines that reduce the movement of air near the surface of the plant,Coopy re -re -re -registered microclimate. Many different plants have developed succulence. Determining whether the type of plants is juicy can be problematic and sometimes considered a subjective decision. Some botanists and gardeners use the term semi -meature to describe plants that have some succulent features, but they do not seem to be as juicy as highly adapted plants that grow in deserts such as cacti.

Many types of succulent plants are popular as houseplants or garden plants. Often they are low maintenance plants, prosperous, although not regularly inclined. Succulents are particularly suitable for sunny gardens with limited water supply. Usually the most important requirement for a successful succing garden is the presence of well -drained soil. It is probably the most common problem for succulent plants and is particularly a problemTical for houseplants.

promotion of succulent plants from chains is generally very successful. Many types of succulents can be spread by cutting a piece of stem. Succulents that have leaves can often be distributed by taking a single sheet as cutting. Both of these approaches are often recommended to use high quality root powder. These powders usually contain a fungicidal substance that will help maintain plant tissue during spread and determine as a new plant.
