The beater can be up to four times and come in several different shapes, such as round, square or triangular. Bass drum whisks are mounted on rods, which are usually made of metal for durability. The rods can be straight and fixed or suspended to allow the beater angle to be adjusted.

as part of the bass drum pedals, the bass of the whipped beater are part of the pedal that hits the head of the bass drum. They are mounted on bars that connect to a mechanism that drives them forward when the pedal is depressed. The drive mechanism is either a chain drive, a strap or a belt drive, or a direct drive.
