What are the different types of fire alarm systems?

Two basic types of used fire alarm systems are now known as manual and automatic. Manual and automatic fire alarm systems can be designed to protect lives only or protect lives and property. Automatic fire alarm systems can operate either in conventional or addressable configuration.

The manual fire alarm relies on the passenger building to discover the fire and activate the hand alarm. A device known as call points are usually installed near the door and staircase to activate the alarm system. This type of fire alarm is usually used in commercial or industrial buildings where no one will sleep. Automatic fire alarms use a network of sensing devices to detect the presence of fire and alarm sound. In addition to the alarm sound, manual and automatic fire alarm systems can be used to activate sprinkler systems and announcements of the fire brigade.

Some types of fire alarms are designed primarily for OCthe edge of the lives of the inhabitants of the house or building. This type of fire alarm will sound an alarm when a fire is detected, but does not have to activate sprinkler systems or inform the fire brigade. The more complex version of this type of system also closes the ventilation system to prevent the propagation of smoke and toxic vapors to other parts of the building. Other types of alarm systems not only alert passengers, but also inform firefighters and activate sprinkler systems that help contain fire and minimize structure damage.

Automatic fire alarm systems usually use a number of detection sensors that are wire -wire to the central control panel. Configuration of wiring for these automatic fire alarms is considered conventional or addressable. In the conventional configuration, the building is divided into two or more zones. Each zone has a number of different coating devices for the control panel with an electric cable. The cable extends from the control panel to the last sensing device in each zone. InThe onven fire alarm configuration activates the individual alarm sensor and sprinklers for the whole zone.

In contrast to conventional configurations, addressable fire alarm systems use an electrical cable that starts at the control panel and continues to each sensor until the complete circuit returns to the panel. In this configuration, each individual sensing is assigned an address. When the individual sensor is activated, the control panel activates alarms and sprinklers for this area only based on the sensor address. This type of configuration of the alarm system eliminates the need for activated the entire zone and allows firefighters to determine the exact location of the fire.
