What is Urushiol?
Urushiol is a type of toxin that usually occurs in plants. While organic, this toxin can cause skin irritation. Plants that usually contain urushiol include poisonous oak, poisonous ivy and sumac. Interestingly, some people are downloading Urushiol-induced contact dermatitis due to confusion in the human body.
Urushiol has the ability to deceive the human body to believe it is under the attack. Once the immune system senses the attack, T-cells that are inside enzymes and toxins of blood release. T-cells are very harmful to good and bad cells. When the fluids are released from T-cells damage nerves, the result is itchy skin.
Urushiol can cause itching in humans, even if it does not affect most animals. Birds, deer, goats, horses and cattle all consume berries from toxic plants without damage. Interestingly, 90% of all adults respond negatively to toxic plants. At the moment, scientists have not determined why some people are hit by Urushiol, while others are not.
A part of a toxic plant that generally causes a reaction looks a lot like a syrup. In fact, the name Urushiol comes from the Japanese word Urushi , which refers to the type of paint that is produced in East Asia from the sap of the Kiurushi tree. Having alone is not important to most toxic plants, although it has an impact on humans.
Poison Ivy becomes the only toxic plant that needs to survive its sap. When the power plant was a poisonous ivy, the plant releases its sap to help cure any wounds. Unfortunately, for those who are allergic to Ivy poisoning, this plant is highly sensitive. A simple brush against the plant causes to release their poisonous toxins similar to the sap.
There is a way to find out whether or not a poisonous ivy plant has been damaged. Plants that have released SAP will look shiny or leaves of plants can have a small black on them. JE need to avoid poisonous ivy plants that seem shiny or spotted. Then it is again possible to come into contact with a toxic sap without entering the wooded area.
Toxic SAP can be easily transferred from one person to another. In addition, an allergic reaction may occur if a person has come into contact with any item or animal containing oils toxic plants. Dogs, cats and even garden tools can contain enough toxin of the plant to cause an allergic reaction. Finally, the sap from toxic plants can be released into the air if these plants are used to create a campfire.
