What is Billy Club?
Billy Club is a small hand stick used primarily by staff in criminal proceedings as a defensive weapon. It is usually made of wood, plastic or metal and intended to be non -periital. It can also be referred to as a baton, night side, frame or blackjack and has been used for more than a century. It is assumed that this weapon was first called the Billy Club of the British at the beginning of the 19th century. Modern Billy clubs include side and foldable versions, as well as lead black pieces and Electroshock stunning batons. It is also used for certain limiting maneuvers such as holding choke. This weapon should not be deadly and most of the organizations for enforcement provide specific training in its use. Police officers are usually instructed to avoid using the Billy club for wounds in the head or other areas where vital organs are located.
