What is a black railway?

Black railway or Latellus jamaicensis is a small dark bird that lives in marshy areas of the United States, Caribbean and South America. It is an elusive bird that is rarely visible. Its population decreases due to the loss of suitable wetland stations. While Coots is known to be loud and striking, the rails are quiet and shy. The black rail is secret and spends a lot of time on the ground and hides under vegetation. Rarely flies. The bird is therefore rarely seen in the open state. It has a stocky body that is mostly dark gray or black. A small white spot is scattered over the lower back, wings and abdomen. He has clear scarlet eyes. Another characteristic feature is the chestnut colored patch on the back of the neck. Mpivo is a little darker than women. Young black rails are covered down and are not as dark as adults. The young also lacks white spots and chestnut spots that decorate adults. Black rails begin with life -colored eyes that turn into scarlet whenHe's a few months old.

black rails prefer salt marshes, shallow freshwater marshes and wet meadows. Their primary habitats are coastal areas near seawater. It eats seeds, insects, spiders and small invertebrates and molluscs.
