What is Black Sea Bass?
Bass Black Sea Bass is a kind of fish that lives in the Western Atlantic Ocean, and the largest number of these fish is concentrated around New Jersey and North Carolina in the United States. High both commercially and for sports, high demand for Black Sea Bass led to implementation of harvest quotas and catching in some regions to control the population. One of the defining characteristics of black sea bass is that it is Hermaphrodite, and most of them are born a woman and moves to men before happening seven years of age. The dorsal fin fish is white, while its other fins have dark spots. When mating, the male fish becomes a blue look and develops a blue hump on its head. Juvenile fish are green or brown and have a dark strip along the back of the back. The average length for fish is about 20 inches (50.8 cm) and weighs the plants (1.36 kg), although fish weighing up to eight pounds (3.62 kg) were caught. Adult black sea bass eats crabs, clams and other regional invertebrates. Young fish are primarily the bottom feedKa and eats the remains. Juvenile fish ripen around two to three years and fish can live for about 15 years.
The Black Sea Bass mating season is February to July and starts in warmer water. Once the egg is laid, the eggs hatch five days after fertilization. During breeding and summer months, fish live in shallower rocky water. In winter they migrate bass into deeper water and juvenile fish leave first at the beginning of autumn.
Although most of the black sea bass are Hermaphrodite, some fish are born males and remain so. Most of them are born a woman and sex sex after laying eggs. If the male population of black sea bass is significantly reduced, some women will make an early transition to men to achieve better sex balance.
In some areas, the fish are controlled by the population of the harvest quota for commercial fishing. There seems to be more in the southern Atlantick over excessive fishingOut areas, then in the northern waters around New Jersey and Maine in the United States. Overall, the population decreases both in average and in average weight size in the last half a century.
