What is the dwarf hamster?

Dwarf hamster may apply to one of a series of hamster, whose members are of a small size. These miniature species belong to the genus phodopus or crus thirty -em. They are often preferred as pets, although some hamsters still live in the wild. Due to their small size and affinity for a particular environment, dwarf hamsters are unusually fragile. Their environment must be carefully maintained so that hamsters can enjoy a long life in captivity.

The Chinese dwarf hamster on 3 inches (7.5 cm) to 3.5 inches (9 cm) and can weigh between 0.9 ounces (25 grams) and 1.5 ounces (43 grams).

Caring for a dwarf hamster is similar to the care of other small mammals.
