What is a great bustard?

Big Bustard, scientifically named Otis Tarda , is the largest member of the Bustard Birds family. Scientists consider the man of the Great Bustard to be the largest flying animal in the world. The male big bustard has a length of about 35-41 inches (90-105 cm), has a wing span of about 83-94 inches (210-240 cm) and weighs £ 17-35 (8-16 kg). Females are smaller, with an average length of about 30 inches (75 cm) and a weight of £ 7-12 pounds (3.0-5.3 kg). Great stations have brown back stains with black sticks and long gray heads and necks. Large stasts have experienced a decline in populations, and in some European and North African countries such as Algeria and the United Kingdom, the regionally disappeared. More than 50 percent of the remaining 30,000-40,000 large bustards are found in Spain or Portugal.

As a habitat, a large bustard is partial for large areas of open grass plains. These birds prefer river valleys and lowlands and avoid rocky terrain and forests, wetlands and let go. Agricultural cloudSTIs are increasingly attractive places for housing, if cultivated fields are not too close to human settlements. Arable crops, such as Kale rape and oil seeds, attract great figures. Some of the large bustard populations are migratory and move in the flocks to winter areas.

Big bustard is an almighty eater. Its diet consists mainly of plant parts, seeds and insects. This bird sometimes eats more prey, such as amphibians and reptiles. It is also known to consume chickens of other species.

In the spring there are rituals of courtship. Male large stations could connect with up to five women's reproduction periods. The male puts on a complex display designed to attract women and the display includes bending the head back to touch its uplifted tail. At the same time, it inflates the neck and forms a fan of white feathers by pointing its wing feathers down and twisting them.
