What is the Himalayan cat?
Himalayan cat is a combination of Persian and Siamese. It has Siamese colored points and Persian long hair. Himalayas are considered to be a type of Persian cat rather than a separate breed. Outside the United States, the Himalayan cat or "Himmy" is known as the Persian point of the color point. Blue Point, Lilac Point, Chocolate Point and Tortoiseshell Body or Tortiepoints, as well as other combinations of color points are possible in Himalayan cats. The Himalayan cat is known for its bright blue eyes, colored points on the face, paws, tail and ears, rounded faces, small eyes and large building. They managed to develop a Persian cat with Siamese color points with the birth of their Himalayan cat, named Newton's debutante. The Fanciers Association for cats (CFA) recognized the Himalayan as a separate breed in 1957, but in the 80s instead reclassified as a Persian type.
Due to the short nose, the Himalayan cat may have difficulty with dby breathing. It is also known that this type of cat is tearing more because tears are more compressed in short faces animals. Himalayas need a bath once a month and face and brush every day. Himalayan coats are usually slightly softer than Persians, and their fur can rotate less, but everyday care is still necessary to get rid of dead fur and help minimize curls.
Himalayan cat is said to have fine dispositions like other Persian cats, but more clown can get attention and affection from its human companions. The Himalayans can also be more active than most Persians because of the Siamese element in their background. They can destroy household objects if they remain too much DUE to boring. The Himalayas are said to be involved in their everyday life and the work of their people.
