What is a shark?
Upper shark is a type of sea fish belonging to the family of heterodontidae sharks. These sharks live along the continental shelf in subtropical and warm mild seas of the Pacific Ocean, which stretch from the coast of Baja California to the north as in Central California. The upper sharks are gray or brown in color and have a spotted skin with lots of small black spots everywhere. In the appearance, the shark is different from the other sharks, because it has a short, dull head with bony combs over his eyes in front of the dorsal fins. Of these ridges, it has a name because they look like two corners.
Horn Sharks are one of the smaller types of sharks. The maximum length of this shark is about 4 feet (122 cm), but the average adult is usually about 3.2 feet (97 cm). Hatchlings ranges from 6 to 7 inches (15-17 cm).
water temperature controls the Horn Shark habitat because it prefers water with more than 68 secondsTupin Fahrenheita (20 degrees Celsius). When the waters are warm, the horns will live in shallow areas and most often occurs at depths of 7-36 feet (2-11 m). After the water cools down in winter, the corners of the corners usually move to a depth of greater than 98 feet (30 m) to keep their bodies warm enough. In addition to reaction to water temperature, horns sharks do not actually cover the sea too open. Generally, they remain within home reach, which is about as large as the Olympic pool.
Horn Shark, which is also called the BullHead shark, differs from other types of sharks because it prefers to stay close to the ocean bottom. During the day, the Horn shark likes to hide at a popular place of rest, which is usually in a slit, between rocks or in bed of seaweed or algae. At night, it comes out to hunt prey, such as shrimp, snails, sea hedgehogs and crabs. Corner sharks are not good swimmers, instead, use their breast fins to crawl along the ocean bottom to search for prey.
SeasonThe mating is in the middle of the winter. Over the next few weeks, the female storage deposits about 24 eggs at the bottom, which then placed in the slots to protect them from predators. It takes about six to nine months to hatch the egg.
