What is Judas' tree?

The Judasian tree is a type of tree redbud , which is originally from Asian countries. It is a deciduous tree, which means it loses in the autumn and grows them again in the spring. During the late winter or early spring, this tree produces bright pink or purpore flowers that sometimes even grow on the trunk. Sometimes it is said that it is a tree from which Judas Iscariot hung up after betraying Jesus. It can also be expanded anywhere from 15 to 20 feet (4.7 to 6 m) to width. It usually prefers full sunlight, but can also grow in partial shadow areas. The Judas tree is somewhat resistant to drought and usually needs minimal watering.

Juda tree flowers are usually in the shape of a heart. Normally they begin to appear for the second year after the planting of the tree. Ancient legend declares that the flowers of this tree were originally white, but later turned with shame after Judas hung up.

The leaves of this tree are also in the shape of a heart. Can be medium to light green color and can dowalls on dark brown stems. The leaves usually do not appear on the tree until after flowers have flourished.

There are also pods on the Judas tree. They are usually long, narrow and flat. They can be anywhere from six to eight inches (15.2 to 20.3 cm). They are usually light brown and can also have seeds.

The common myth of this plant is that bees and butterflies die if they land on one of the branches of the tree. Sometimes it is believed that flowers contain juice that essentially slept these creatures. This legend is false because the flowers of this tree cannot pollinate, but rather to rely on bees.

Judas, also known as Cercis Siliquastrum , is sometimes exported to the United States and many countries in southern Europe. Usually it is very easy to grow and generally requires very small pruning or maintenance. Can sometimes be affected by diseases such as verticullum wilt, a fungus that affects the leaves of the plant, and canker that are similar to the ulcers on the trunk of the tree. People who are looking for a small ornamental tree with lots of spring color may want to consider planting a tree Judas.
