What is Layette?

Layette is a wardrobe of children's clothing and bedding for newborns. The word layette is of French origin and means "small box". Layette items can be for a new child such as diapers, anything you need, but the term layette set often means a gift set or a gift box of children's belongings.

Layette clothing is usually designed for a newborn for up to three months, with some items made for newborns for up to six months.
