What is Holub Nicobar?
Nicobarian pigeon, scientifically named Caloenas nicobarica , belongs to the bird's birds' family and scientists believe it is the last remaining sample of the family Kaloen. Nicobar, which is considered one of the most beautiful pigeons, is a glittering green blue color with copper stripes. Its most important feature is its white tail, which serves as a type of rear light, which helps to maintain flocks together when light is low at dusk or dawn. Men and women resemble each other, except that women are somewhat heavier and slightly smaller. On average, Holub Nicobar is about 16 inches (40 cm) long, while men weighing about 16-18 ounces (460-510g) and women's 17-21 ounces (490-600 g).

Nicobar pigeons have a very muscular stomach that allows them to grind extremely hard nuts that one might need a hammer to open up.
