What is Pintuck?

and pintuck is a fold of fabric that was sewn to hold it in place, just like a fold. Pintucks give the fabric a decorative effect and create a visual line at the selected point. They are often seen in vintage clothing, but can also be used to create a very modern look. Wide pintuck can be folded flat against the base fabric. Usually every fold in the group has the same size, although the size change can be used to create special visual effects. Pintucks are often evenly distributed over the fabric. They are often placed on bodice of blouses or dresses where they usually have vertical orientation. Another popular pattern is to place each pintuck so that the lines form a beam. Sometimes a single tension atato line can curve and randomly wander over the fabric surface, even passing through earlier lines.

Pintuck can be placed so that each conEC closed in the seam or can be placed as a fold, so one end is in the middle of the fabric. In this case, Pintucku must be tied so that it does not cover. The Open Pintucks group can control fullness in the finished object as well as the arrow.

For many years after the basic sewing on the sewing machine, it was still necessary to sew the hands, because the control and spacing is so difficult. Today, however, many sewing machines have a special leg that makes it easy to control both width and gaps. It is easier than ever to experiment with many visual effects that can be created by a simple pint.
