What is a pressure suit?

The pressure suit regulates the air pressure to which the user is exposed. They are used by pilots and astronauts with high altitude who work in low or no air pressure. People who are exposed to altitude above approximately 50,000 feet (15,000 meters) will require a safe functioning of a pressure suit. Military pressure suits and space suits share many common features.

People have developed on the surface of the Earth where air pressure is relatively uniform. Higher altitudes have significantly lower air pressure; Air pressure in the upper part of Asia Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world, is about the third level of sea level. Although people can survive on most high -height surfaces, low air pressure can prevent breathing and other body functions. In the environments achieved by aircraft and spacecraft, people cannot survive unprotected for more than a few minutes.

at altitudes above 33,000 feet (10,000 meters) from the sea level is usually necessaryBreathing oxygen to prevent hypoxia. Hypoxia is a general deprivation of oxygen in the body and can cause a number of unfavorable symptoms of collectively called altitude disease. Above about 39,000 feet (12,000 meters), additional respiratory oxygen with further pressure is required to prevent these symptoms.

Many aircraft work at an altitude sufficiently low to prevent the need for a pressure suit. However, the pressure that one feels in the ears, descends in a plane, is the result of higher pressure near the surface. On the other hand, many military aircraft fly at altitudes where a full pressure suit is required to maintain health. These pressure suits usually include a microphone helmet and speakers to facilitate communication with others. They also include oxygen respiratory devices, thermal insulation layers and the eve of urine collection.

there is no air pressure at all in the universe, so to the abruptThese vehicles are required a pressure suit. Astronauts inside the walls of a pressurized spacecraft do not have to wear a pressure suit to breathe. These pressure suits, commonly called space suits, are in many ways similar to aircraft pressure suits. However, they will usually include more sophisticated thermal control systems. Protection against radiation in space is also an important priority of design.

divers who need protection against higher pressure of deep water, wears what is called an atmospheric diving suit. This type of suit must provide the user with oxygen, but the mechanical structure is fundamentally different from pressure suits. Rather than keeping high air pressure inside, the suit must withstand high external water pressure. That is why these suits are somewhat similar to armor.
