What is the snake lizard?

Snake lizards are not really snakes at all. They are still a lizard, also known as a glass lizard or a glass snake, even if they are not a snake. It belongs to the family Ophisaurus , which literally translated, means a snake lizard. Because they don't have legs, a feature they share with snakes, they are often wrong with snakes. Sanding snake inhabits every continent except Antarctica and can survive in almost any climate. Some of the features that distinguish the lizards of snakes include the presence of tympanic or creeping ears and moving eyelids. Snakes don't even. Limbleless lizards also have a muzzle in the shape of a wedge than a snake. In this respect, they look similar to alligator lizards.

Snakes and snake lizards also differ in the way they move. Jerk snake must move against the objective push forward as they can use muscles in their sides to drive. Snakes, on the other hand, use their abdominal scales and muscles in addition to their side muscles to move. It practically means that a lizard without a footIt is helpless on a flat surface like a road. It cannot move forward and probably dies if it finds itself on a flat road surface.

Another big difference between lizards and snakes is the way their bodies feel. Local without a foot feels stiff, unlike the elasticity of the snake. This is due to lizards' bone plates, and because its tail form a relatively larger part of its length compared to the snake. Lizard's tail without limbles can be more than 2.5 times the length of the head and body.

Understanding the tail differences between a snake and a lizard without a gloss could help the crowding of how a snake lizard gets a nickname of a glass lizard. Like some other lizards, the glass lizard can separate the tail when it is endangered or frightened. Unlike other types of lizards, however, when the tail of the glass lizard separates, it can break into pieces like broken glass, hence the nickname. Glass lizardKa can once regenerate the tail during its life. It can lose twice, so there are lizards without legs with permanently missing tails.
