Stock Horse is a specific type of horse mammal, which is considered particularly suitable for working with livestock - especially cattle. They tend to be characterized by their dexterity, speed and intelligence. Most horses in stock have a muscle assembly with strong hind limbs. Other places with large open spaces and the history of cattle breeding, such as parts of South America and Australia, also used these horses extensively. Like most working animals, an active horse comes from a long series of ancestors who have been domesticated by humans to perform certain tasks. Arabs, quarter horses, Quarabs, Mustangs, Appaloosa and Morabs are common examples of horses, although every horse used to work with livestocks, or any horse that is trained to participate in competitions that require interaction, interaction animals would be qualified as a stock horse.

Some Camezi Competition includes Campdrafting, Cutting, Reining and Team Penning. These categories are generally based on movements required from the work horse of the ranch. For example "cutting" JE term, which is derived from the practice of distributing cattle into different groups for different purposes, such as one group to be marked, and the other to be sent to the market.
