What is the squirrel?
Tree squirrel is a daily rodent of the Sciuridae family, which also contains flying squirrels and ground squirrels. These animals are known to most people because they are active during the day, exist around the world and are common in urban and residential areas and in natural areas. Tree squirrels have small ears; long, bushy tail; and can be gray, red or even white or black. A squirrel on a tree can be distinguished from other squirrels in that they live and spend most of the time more on trees than in the burrows in the ground like other squirrels.
Many tree squirrels will have two litters between two and four young annually. Squirrels will shut down young trees around eight weeks of age. They tend to be lonely, but they are not territorial and there will be coexistence with many other squirrels nearby. Tree squirrels are not trying to be less active during the cold season. Activity will increase at the end of winter when the mating season is running.

They also like many of the same seeds that birds make and feed from bird feeders. Power failures are sometimes caused by tree squirrels on electric lines.
In some of the populated areas, the squirrels of trees have become accustomed to the presence of people, that they approach and ask for food. Several of them have become so fearless that the meal from the hand of a person. JIt is known that the squirrels of trees stole food from an unsuspecting person who turned her attention elsewhere for a few seconds. Sometimes people find injured or orphaned squirrels of trees and treated them back to health, sometimes kept them as pets. It is always important to check local laws and regulations on the maintenance of wild animals before they are close to the injured or orphaned animal.
Some cultures capture and eat squirrels, especially rural parts of the US and indigenous cultures of some countries. They are abundant, easy to catch and are said to have less play taste than other types of wild game. In some countries, tree squirrels can even appear in restaurants.
