What is an English daisy?
English Daisy is a low growing perennial found in Europe, the US and North Africa. This is also called common Daisy, Lawn Daisy and Bellis Perrenis. The word "daisy" is assumed that it has evolved from the phrase "day eye" because the flower closes at night and opens during the day. Many varieties of English daisies can be found in the grass growing wildly, hence the name of the lawn Daisy. Their low height-they grow no higher than 6 inches (about 15 cm)-a significant that they are often not disturbed by mowing and some are considered weeds. The colors of the petals can be white, pink, orange, fuchsia or red, with a yellow center. On closer inspection, the center is actually made up of individual small yellow flowers, which are often hidden in Daisy English with double flower. The petals can be smooth or furry, while small, approximately 1 to 2 inches (2 to 5 cm) are leaf -headed, shaped and evergreen spoons. The tendency of the plant to spread is ideal as a ground cover, even if it can almost boret garden if it is left lower.
English Daisy is a relatively easily grown low maintenance plant. It can be grown from seeds at the beginning of spring or cutting or divided plants inserted directly into the ground or pots. When growing from seeds, the seeds should be pushed slightly just below the soil line. If you use a divided plant, it is best to divide the English Daisy early in the spring or just after the flourishing.
The average soil is fine for English daisies, but prefers slightly acidic soil with added compost. The soil should be connected every few days or daily in hot weather, whether make sure the soil feels wet at a depth of about 2 inches (about 5 cm). Plants will grow in full sun, but prefer a partial shadow in warmer climate. They are hard enough to put it into a relatively cold climate.Blooms should be clamped after flowering to make on nThey did not turn the seeds to the seeds and sowed volunteer plants. The removal of dead flowers also stimulates the plant to grow more flowers. English daisies that take care of this method can bloom from the end of spring to summer and autumn.
English Daisy is relatively without pests, although it can develop stains from fungal leaves. To reduce the likelihood of this type of damage, it is good to water only the soil, not the leaves of the plant. Similarly, the fertilizer is best applied to the soil and not to the plant itself.
