What is Oystercatcher?

Oystercatcher is a type of wading bird that usually occurs on sweet and salty coasts. Oystercatchers also sometimes start inland, often to the Valley River. These birds can in large numbers on the coast, where they feed on a mollusk who dug out of the mud. There are several Oystercatcher species, as diverse as North America, Africa, Great Britain and Europe. These birds usually prefer rocky beaches rather than sandy. Different types of oystercatcher usually winter on the coast and can move further inland to move near rivers, lakes and swamps in the spring and summer. Some species may remain near the coast. Experts do not understand why some birds are traveling inland, while others remain near the coast to behave. Underly, sharp accounts believe they are suitable for molluscs, which they often feed on. Mussels and Cockles generally provide support for coastal diet Oystercatcher while birds can feed most of the worms as soon as the summerThey move inland. Oystercatchers are also known to feed on snails and small crustaceans. Oystercatcher is not usually strong enough to open ripe molluscs, so they usually feed on perforation shells and remove the meat through the hole. The long beak of Oystercatcher also makes it easier to hunt worms in the interior.

Because they feed primarily on shells and cockles, oysters in some regions were considered a danger to the fishing industry. The exhaustion of natural beds of seashells can endanger the types of oystercatcher.

Most oystercatcher species are relatively large, about 17 inches (43 centimeters) high. They usually have long, pink legs and orange or red beak. European oysters usually have black feathers on their heads, backs and wings with contrasting white feathers over the breasts and the underside of the wings. Other types of oystercatcher such as species originally on the northern island of newAbout Zealand or on the west coast of North America, are usually completely black. Male oysters are generally greater than women of the species, while the birds of both sexes usually have similar feathers.
