What is anxiety?
Anxiety in its easiest sense means fear or anxiety. The word is derived from Nordic and Germanic languages. The Danish philosopher, Soren Kierkegaard, used this term to express a human state that, as he felt, was interwoven with despair. This definition of anxiety was an integral part of the term used by an existentialist.
In existentialism, angst is the struggle between the needs of yourself and the requirements of others, as well as spiritual requirements. It was the fate of Odysseus caught between Scylla and Charybdis, or a "rock and a hard place", as is more often expressed. It is used in contradiction with the serving humanity, thus creating anxiety.
Modern use of the term is descriptively applied to teenagers. It seems that the process of becoming an adult and sometimes frustrated authority is first felt at this age. Also, hormone shifting often leads to anxiety. Some time ago, it seems to be a little tired of immersed in an emotional conflict. Despair that can accompany a teenage situation, often expressed inPopular music among adolescents is the anxiety of the soul of a teenager.
In fact, the Goth Music movement, first popularized bands like The Cure at the age of 80, an external expression of internal anxiety. The pale white face and stained black hair make those who dress in Goth's fashion look as if they are dead. These are merely external capture of the conflict soul. For many adolescents and young adults, this costume seems to be a suitable way to show the world in conflict.
Yet most teens are not "Goth" and can still feel anxiety. In fact, the state has existed long before the modern teenage sometimes marked with the term. In particular, romantic writers often wrote from a sense of deep emotional conflict. This is especially the case of Byron.
It is also impossible to look at Charlotte and Emily Bronte without discussing anxiety. SufferingHeathcliff in Wuthering's heights or the Tristicurian launch of Mr. Rochester in Jane Eyre are examples of characters whose lives are led by anxiety. The external expression of this feeling is often romanticized. In fact, Charlotte and Emily Bronte were quite young writers and went with Glee for a dramatic and big gesture; Like Goth Teen or Rock Group, she could do today.
While some want to promote their anxiety, other characters suffer in contemporary works of art in silence. In particular, superheroes are often characters filled with conflicts that must hide who they are. To meet their sacred duties, they often have to store the needs of the world over their private needs.
In any of its forms, the anxiety is spiritual and emotional suffering caused by the confusion of the world. It is important to carefully follow those who wear their feelings on their sleeve, because unfortunately, in some people, angst means deep emotional interference or clinical depression, which could afterto step toward destructive behavior.
