What is Beadboard Wainscoting?

Wainscoting Beadboard is installed on a wall at WAINSCOTING height, usually about three feet (0.9 m). The distinctive lines that operate the length of each narrow panel have an interesting visual effect. Beadboard Wainscoting usually has a cap at the top of Wainscot and a narrow motherboard on the base. Beadboard is usually installed so that its lines run vertically, but sometimes it is horizontally installed for another effect. Each strip has at least one half -round on the surface, usually with an accompanying sharp niche called a joke. The bead is often placed near the edge of the strip. Around 1900, at least ten conventional beads were for Beadboard and specially designed patterns were often produced with their own mill. Large leaves of coadic wainscoting made of medium density fiber (MDF) are also commercially available. These leaves are particularly easy to install. They are attractive when they are painted but are not suitable for stained finishes.
