What is Catholicism?

Catholicism is a Christian faith that is characterized by a specific set of faith, practices and behavior. In addition to the belief in the divinity of Jesus Christ, sharing all Christian beliefs, Catholicism recognizes the highest authority of Roman vision or Pope and believes in the transubstant of bread and wine into the literal body and blood of Christ as the Eucharist. Catholicism also supports adherence to practices on a set of events known as sacraments. On the long and bloody path of religion throughout history, Catholicism has branched into two main segments: the Roman or Western Catholic Church and the Eastern Catholic Church.

The dawn of Catholicism is considered to be many of the resurrection of Christ, but in fact it is possible to trace the early story in the Bible. Jesus, stunning his followers walking on the water, calls on them to join him. Only one, Peter, agrees to do so, and in fact he will achieve a moment before afraid and sink. Jesus is so pleased with Peter's belief that he claims that Peter is a rock, on which "I will build my church" (Matthew 16:18). This story is considered much as a statement that Peter is the first Pope of the Catholic Church, although this common term would not be used for many centuries.

The term Catholic comes from an ancient Greek word for the universal and for many centuries after its initial rise to power, Catholicism ruled as almost universal faith of the Western world. The disagreement with church power and politics eventually led to a great division of faith in the Middle Ages, which often resulted in a revolution soaked in the blood.

Eastern and western weapons of Catholicism have been divided in practice and tradition from the beginning in the development of faith, which differ largely through the great division of Language, cultural traditions and simple geography that isolated practice and development in the eastern and western empires. Although the two weapons of faith remain faithful to a certain main persuasionThe Eastern Catholicism was to some extent influenced by the development of other Eastern vortions, political shocks and social changes, as well as the Western Catholic Church, it was influenced by the rise of Protestantism, the development of democracy and many wars of the Western world.

Some important thoughts in Catholicism include the adoption of the Holy Trinity, the theory that suggests that God actually consists of three presence: God the Creator, Jesus and the Holy Spirit or the Holy Spirit. Catholicism also insists on the divinity of Jesus and supports the idea that it was both divine and human and was conceived by Mary, his human mother. Another main tenant of religion is the sacraments, which are seven events that people can share directly in God's grace, according doctrines. The sacraments include baptism, reconciliation, community, confirmation, marriage, acceptance of saints and anointing of the sick.
