What is the protection of dolphins?

A large number of animals living in the ocean feel the impact of people because these animals are trying to survive face to face excessive fishing and destruction of habitats. This applies to many different types, including different types of dolphins. To save these animals and ensure that they are doing well in the future, many groups of people work to protect dolphins. These organizations are trying to protect both dolphins and their water environment.

One of the significant steps to maintain dolphins was the enactment of the Act on the Protection of Sea Mammals (MMPA) by the United States in 1972. This act ensured the protection of all marine mammals in the US waters. This act not only is unlawful to damage the sea mammals, but also prohibits harassment, touching or approaching them in the wild. This helps to ensure that dolphins and other sea mammals can live freely and safely in waters throughout the United States.

MMPA does not exceed the American territorial water. There are other organizations that work for the protection of dolphins and for whale protection andAll marine mammals in international waters. The International Whale Commission (IWC) exists to protect whales as a global natural source, but also seeks to identify and solve the threats for other cetakes, including dolphins.

International Union for Preserving Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN) is a large international group. This organization operates various projects focused on cooperation with fishermen and coastal residents to help while preserving various species of marine species. One of the important businesses was to reduce the number of dolphins due to entangling into commercial fishing networks.

Human use of areas that dolphins also use for hunting, breeding and relaxation, is a threat to animal habitat. Although the problems are unintentional, dolphins and other sea mammals are injured and sick such things such as boat propellers, wastewater leaks and oils. Noise from different human activities mIt can also interfere with the normal lives of sea mammals. This is especially true for dolphins and whales that depend on their sonar systems to survive.

Groups that advocate the protection of dolphins insist that people have to reduce or eliminate disruption of the sea environment to allow animals to live normally. When they are injured, unable to hunt or cannot relax properly, the number of marine mammals will begin to decrease. If these animals have to survive people of many countries, not only a few, they will have to take the protection of dolphins seriously and work on their protection.
