What is Emocore?

Emocore, the abbreviation of emotional hardcore, is a genre of music from the hardcore punk music scene Washington D.C. The genre has its roots at the age of 80. With bands such as Rites of Spring, one last wish and Beefeater who combined emotional texts with hard punk. The genre sorted in the mid -90s, when many bands moved to a finer, more melodic style with more popular attraction and many hard bands dissolved. This led to the Emo mainstream genre.

The division between the waves of emocore and the terminology that describes its division and subgenres is inconsistent and heavily argued. Many musicians and fans claim that the expressions of "emo" and "emotion" have no meaning. These critics argue that determining the genre based on the emotional content of the group is inaccurate and enemies arbitrary. Nevertheless, the conditions are widely used and accepted if they are not fully understood.

The first wave of Emocore is closely associated with Washington D.C. M.Scene Usic and musicians Guy Picciotto andIan Mackaye. Guy Piciotto is attributed to the first Emocore or after a hardcore band with spring ceremonies. Picciotto and his group revolutionized the hardcore punk genre by eliminating aggressive texts in favor of personally more distinctive and emotionally open texts. Spring ceremonies, however, maintained hard sound and often often broke their tools at the end of their concerts.

Picciotto and his drummer, Brendan Canty, continued to connect Ian Mackay in his band Fugazi, which significantly influenced the sound of Emocore. Previously, Mackaya led a minor threat, a prominent hardcore punk band at the beginning of the 80's. He also formed a straight philosophy that discouraged occasional sex and drug use and supported all ages. In 1987 he founded Mackay Fugazi, who experimented with funk, reggae and classic rock sounds, usually with emotions, passionate vocals. They are also known by intentionallyThey maintain prices of concerts affordable and discouraging fighting or Moshing in their audience. The band has been on hiatus since 2002.

Fugazi influenced, in the early 90s, introduced many new bands that began to receive popular recognition, such as the sunny day of real estate and Jimmy Eat World. Some call it the second wave of Emocore, others say it was the end of Emocore and the beginning of the emo genre that eliminated the hard sound in favor of a finer melodic style. The issue of the "Pinerton" of the Weezer band in 1996 brought the EMO movement to the new popular maximum.

Mainstream EMO probably started in 2001, when Jimmy Eat World released the album "Bleed American", which moved the sound of the band to the end. Many other melodic and hook -powered bands have become concentrated in the EMO category such as Confessional from the dashboard, and it seems forever, Fallout Boy, My Chemical Romance and Panicna Disco. During this period also increased the more aggressive genre of Screamo, with the rise of bands like GLASSJAW. EMO is stereotypically associated with fashion trends that sports belts, eyeliner, side wounds and unisex skinny jeans.
