What is Eremurus?

Rod Eremurus has a number of permanent flowers from Western and Central Asia. The plant, also called lily lily or desert candle, depicts a long stem with a bushy peak composed of many small flowers. Varieties range from dwarf species of 2 feet (about 0.6 meters) to plants that grow to impressive 10 feet (about 3 meters). Thanks to the unusual shape, the flower for the gardens is a beautiful accent and you can find it in colors such as pink, orange and lilac. The flower is best in a sunny place with sandy soil and flowers at the end of spring or early summer. These deciduous plants come from the warm climate of Central Asia, from Turkestan to the Himalayas. In Afghanistan, thin, belt leaves of some species are cooked and consumed as vegetables.

These flowers are also Called Foxtail lily because of their distinctive shape. A long tip, which has a cluster of small flowers above, grows from the plant. The flowers bloom all around the stem and form a shape that looks similar to a bushy fox tail or feathers.The color of the flower depends on the species and can be pink, white or orange. Species with orange or yellow flowers are sometimes called desert candles.

Eremurus is largely used as a decoration and is sometimes referred to as a flower stopping show. eremurus robustus is a species that is popular in gardens. Its dramatic shape and height, which reaches about 6 to 10 feet (1.8 to 3 meters), makes it an excellent background race that puzzles other smaller plants and flowers. Eremurus robustus has soft pink flowers and offers a nice contrast to blues and fiak such flowers as the iris of Adelphiniums. Eremurus aurantiacus is dwarf species that show the same dramatic flowers, but at a height of only 2 to 3 feet (about 0.61 to 0.91 meters).

Plants' seeds eremurus should be planted in autumn, 6 to 8 inches (about 15 to 20 centimeters) deep in the songČité, well -drained soil. Some varieties can tolerate a thin shade, but the plant makes the best in the sun. Flowers bloom at the end of spring or early summer. Eremurus can be attractive to slugs, so gardeners should check the plants regularly. Bushy flowers hold nicely when they are cut for arrangement, lasting two or three weeks.
