What is latania?
Latiania is the name of the genus for three types of palm with one track, also called their common name Latan Palms. These palms come from Mascarene Islands in the Indian Ocean and prefer to grow in areas that are seasonally dry and hot. They are most often located near the coast of these islands, which are located east of Madagascar. Latiania species are almost extinct in their native countries due to urbanization and loss of their natural environment.
leaves of different types of latanium are similar to the fan and are usually gray to light green. All three species produce panicles or combs similar to clusters of flowers in the shape of a bowl. Individual flowers in Panicky have three petals. Flower colors usually differ from species to species, but the most common are white and light green.
Latiania species grow best in a warm climate, so if the temperature drops below 61 degrees Fahrenheit (16 degrees Celsius), the palms should move to a warm greenhouse. If you areIn grown in the greenhouse, they grow preferably in watering soil with sand and added mold leaves. In addition, they prefer to grow in full light, but should be overshadowed from hot direct sunlight. If they are grown outdoors, they should be in the soil that is well drained and in full sunlight.
Blue latan Palm, also known as its Latin name, latania loddigesia is a relatively small palm with blue-green leaves. This palm can reach more than 50 feet (about 15.2 m) and width of more than 11 feet (about 3.4 m).
