What is Libertia?

Libertia is a genus of plants that is part of the Iridaceae family family. It contains about 11 types of permanent herbs that come from Australia and South America. These plants have clusters of narrow leaves similar to grass and long stems that have a cluster of flowers at the tip. Landscapes use plants of the family Libertia as border shrubs or in gardens with tolerant drought. Generally, these plants are promoted by seeds or creep.

This genus is named after the Belgian botany Anne-Marie Libertová, who lived from 1782 to 1865. The common names of these plants differ depending on the species.
