What is Miracle-Gro®?
Miracle-Gro® is a brand of consumer garden products sold by Scotts Miracle-Gro Company. There are several products that carry Miracle-Gro® label, including fertilizers, watering mixtures, amendments to the attic and hose nozzles. Miracle-Gro® is perhaps the best known as plant fertilizer. There are many different formulas of fertilizers sold under Miracle-Gro® label, which are designed for different uses. Most Miracle-Gro® fertilizers are synthetic chemical fertilizers, although the brand has recently introduced a range of organic products.
Miracle-Gro® produces fertilizers for the care of lawn, vegetables, flowers, flower pots, trees and shrubs, citrus and palms and roses. Fertilizers can be applied in different ways. The most common application is to dissolve the fertilizer in the marked amount of water and apply it directly to the soil. Another method of supply is feeding leaves or spraying fertilizers on the leaves of the plant. This is done using a garden hose special nozzle made for Miracle-Gro®.
Miracle-Gro® is known for its synthetic fertilizer products, although it has developed a number of organic products. All fertilizers provide nutrient plants, but synthetic and organic fertilizers work differently and are made of different materials. The most important ingredients of any fertilizer are nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, usually marked with their chemical symbols N, P and K. Most fertilizers also contain calcium, sulfur, magnesium and other trace elements. Fertilizers are marked according to the percentage of different elements they contain.
synthetic fertilizers are produced by the processing of raw materials. They are soluble in water, which means that the solid fertilizer is dissolved in the water and is immediately available to the plant. The synthetic fertilizer thus provides rapid strengthening of the nutrients of Arostina, which is often considered an advantage. However, too high the Miracle-Gro® or other synthetic fertilizer can burn the plant leaves.
synthetic fertilizers werecriticized by supporters of environmental agriculture and environmentalists because they do nothing for long -term soil improvement and tend to infuse streams and ponds. On the other hand, organic fertilizers release nutrients slowly into the soil over time and can improve the quality of soil by stimulating the beneficial microbial activity. Organic fertilizers are often made of natural materials such as compost, worm castings, animal waste and fish emulsion.
In 2008, the US Environmental Protection Agency commemorated many Miracle-Gro® products for having an invalid pesticide registration number on their cover. The affected products were called Miracle-Gro® Shake 'N' Feed All Fuons Plant Food and Prevent Weed and Related Ptesticides. Miracle-Gro® also sued the organic fertilizer Company Terra Cycle, which produces plant foods from the casts of worms because they used similar packaging to Miracle-Gro® and claimed that their product overcame the "front synthetic fertilizer".
