What is Pulsatalla?

Pulsatilla, also known as Pasque Flower, is a genus of deciduous permanent plants found in North America and Eurasia. The genus contains 30 different species and their preferred growing habitats are one of the high prairies and meadows. The name "Pasque Flower" comes from early flowers of plants that appear near the holidays of Passover, often before winter snowfall melts. Other names for Pulsatilla include the wind flower, Prairie Crocus and Easter flower. The flowers are lonely and covered with fine silk hair.
