What is southern oscillation?

southern oscillation or El Niño concerns the temperature of the ocean and atmosphere. Depending on the weather pattern, it is commonly referred to as El Niño or La Niña. This usually occurs every five years, but can also occur every three to seven years. Changing temperatures during southern oscillation can affect the weather around the world. Floods or designs may also occur during these weather patterns. Usually cooler northeast winds combined with warm water water ocean create average weather conditions, but if there is not only a small or no cooling effect and surface ocean water can warm up, it is considered to be El Niño. This can cause essential rains in some areas and at the same time cause drought in other areas. A la niña occurs when cooler northern winds are mixed with colder surface water.

southern oscillation can take several months for several years. Experts can sometimes predict when oscillations will occur. When there is an increase or podlESU of the surface pressure course or changes in business winds, it may indicate a change in weather patterns. For example, if these winds carry warmer ocean water into a specific area, another area may suffer because it will also take rainfall with it. In some areas it will leave too many rain and in other conditions of drought.

cooling or warming water during southern oscillation may have a negative impact on fishing in the western Pacific. When El Niño or warming effect occurs, the fish population can shrink a little, but the fish can still be caught. If the temperatures are too extreme, the fish can disappear completely. Colder water mixed with warmer water and high pressure is the best scenario for fishing. This type of weather is also good for the ecosystem in a specific area.

Birds can also be influenced by southern oscillations. If they do not have any food to eat, they will not produce the basic droppings due to the loss of fish. It cancause a domino effect on all the wild animals that depend on the sea for food. By predicting southern oscillations, human intervention can work to save at least some animals.

El Niño is a Spanish phrase that means a boy. This is a reference to Jesus, because this pattern of weather is usually happening around Christmas. During the Christmas season it will notice more, because it is also the best time to catch fish.
