What is Tashlich?
Tashlich is a Jewish ceremony that takes place in most cases on the first day of Rosh Hashanah. If Rosh Hashanah falls on Saturday, Tashlich will take place the next day. It is a ritual and prayer that symbolizes the discarding of old sins and the woes of the year to prepare for a better and happy new year, based on the Jewish calendar.
Tashlich means "throw away" or "throw away". In Tashlich, Jews go to rivers or streams and empty pockets and throw the contents into the water body.
