What is terramycin® ophthalmic ointment?
terralycin® Ophthalmic ointment, antibiotic treatment produced by Pfizer Health Health, should treat bacterial infections in cats, dogs and livestock. Terramycin® contains antibiotics of oxytetracycline and polymyxin B sulphate. Terramycin®, universal wide-spectrum antibiotic in oil-based, heals infections resulting from gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, along with rickettsiae, spirit and other viruses. Terramycin® ophthalmic ointment is sometimes used to treat other problems in addition to eye infections.
Terramycin® is a bright yellow ointment with a strong antimicrobial activity. It is used directly on the eye of the animal to effectively treat conjunctivitis and other bacterial inflammations. This antibiotic ointment is ideal for dogs with occasional infections of mild eyes and is effective in the treatment of pets and farm animals with pink eye, inflamed lids or corneal inflammation. Animals allergic to polymyxin B, oxytetracycline, tetracycline or doxycycline should not be treated with teramycin® unless they are supervised by a veterinarian. Terramycin® is not for human use.
Opening a tube of this antibioTical ointments should not touch any surface, including eyes or fingers, and the tube should be stored firmly. Ointment can cause blurred vision; An animal with teramycin® should be monitored in terms of interference with visual interference. Other eye drugs should not be used with this ointment unless the animal is supervised by the veterinarian.
