What is Louisville Ballet?
Louisville Ballet is a state ballet in Kentucky and was founded in March 1952. Since its modest beginnings, it has become one of the regional ballet companies of the premiere in the country. It began as a civil ballet society and relied on visiting art directors and choreographers to direct their work every time the production took place. It was only in 1965 that the man named Larry Gradus was hired as full -time artistic director to supervise a group of temporary dancers.
