Baseball has long been a foundation form of entertainment in Manhattan and several notes teams called an island home. At the end of the nineteenth century and at the beginning of the twentieth century, however, sport has not yet gained the popularity that was destined to accept, and so soon the teams rented space in Polo Grounds, a pole stage on West 155. The Polo resorts were surprisingly, originally intended for use as a field field, but not long after baseball games began to take place, Polo was no longer playing on the pitch. However, the name was stuck and the stadium became known as Polo Grounds through its several reincarnations.

The most important baseball teams played in Polo Grounds were the New York Giants (later moved to San Francisco), New York Metropolitans, New York Yankees and New York Mets. Mets were Ltým Ast playing in Polo Grounds shortly before their stadium - Shea Stadium - was completed. PoloThe eal was a remarkable field for its odd dimensions. The latest version of the stadium - by far the most popular - took over the shape of the tub from the overhead cost and represented a huge space in the outfield. The left and right fields were unusually shallow, causing a large number of home runs, but the central field was extremely deep and measured around 480 feet (147 m). No player has ever interfered with this part of the Ballpark, although many of them have approached.

Because the left and right fields were so shallow, Babe Ruth - Hitter move by nature - hit many home runs from the polo. When the Yankee stadium was built, many people speculated that the dimensions of the right field, which were similarly short, were designed to suit the home running of Babe Ruth. The Polo area also had other jokes: Outfield bent down from Infield, which means that the outfielder is chasing Mouchumíč actually running downhill. The left field of the upper deck moved the field and occasionally transformed Catchable Fly Balls into home runs. And the bulls who satIn the gaps on the left and right field, they were in the game. The polo areas were finally closed in 1963 and demolished in 1964 when the stadium disintegrated for a feasible repair.
