What is Mullerian channel?
Mullerian channel is a pipe or tube that is present in the human embryo. This pipeline extends on the sides of the structure known as the urogenital ridge, a structure that later develops to help create external genitals, and ends in Mullerian Eminence, a structure that helps to form urinary and genital organs. It is interesting to note that Mullerian Diuct develops only in women and helps to form a female reproductive system. If the embryo becomes a man, these channels are lost. One of these structures is Mullerian Duct itself and the other is called urogenital sinus. The urogenital sinus eventually develops into the bladder and also helps to create other parts of the urinary and reproductive system.
Mullerian channel is present in the embryo of both sexes. In women, this pair of pipes will develop into organs of reproduction. In men, these channels disappear. However, the adjacent channels known as Wolffian channels will develop and help create male reproductive organs.
Thechemical known as the anti-Müllerian hormone controls the development of the Mullerian canal by the very presence or the absence of this hormone, which is mainly performed in the testicles of embryos. Disorders in the production of this hormone and subsequently Mullerian Duct can lead to health problems depending on the nature of the interference.
Müllerian duct is a state in which the Mullerian channel in the male embryo does not disappear. Instead, the uterus or other derivative of this pipe is present. In humans, the most common cause of this syndrome is a genetic disorder or mutation. Operations to remove female organs or tissues generally performed in the hope of maintaining male reproductive abilities.
Müllerian Agenesis is another health condition that may occur due to abnormalities in hormones responsible for the development of the Mullerian channel. With this condition there is no uterus in a woman, and there are usually different types of malformations of the vagina. SurgeonIE is a possibility to allow comfortable sexual intercourse. At present, however, there is no way to allow fertility in a woman with this condition. Counseling is often proposed to those who suffer from this disorder.
