What is the distal fibula?

Distal fibula is the lower part of the fibula, which is one of the bones that make up the lower leg. This bone, along with two other bones, helps to form one of the ankle joints. Small children have a growth plate in their distal fibulas. If the growth plate is broken, it can lead to adulthood deformities. The treatment of distal fibula fracture usually includes castings.
