What Is the Interosseous Membrane?
The forearm interosseous membrane (ORTHOPAEDICS) is a tendonous fibrous tissue obliquely extending from the radius to the ulna. It consists of the tendon part in the middle 1/3 and the membranous part at both ends.

- (1) The maintenance of forearm longitudinal stability depends on the interaction of anatomical structures such as forearm interosseous membrane;
- (2) Maintain the stability of the ulna and radius during forearm rotation and conduct stress from the radius to the ulna.
- (3) The longitudinal stability of the forearm after radial head resection is mainly maintained by the forearm interosseous membrane

- When the forearm bones are in the pronation or supination position, the interosseous membrane is relaxed; in the intermediate position, the interosseous membrane is tense.
