What is the ventral striatum?

Ventral striatum is part of the brain. It is part of the brain structure known as the striatum and is connected to the limbic system. It is assumed that the ventral striatum has a certain connection of the engine motion and to some emotional reactions, especially those related to the pleasure and motivation of behavior. It is located in the front brain, an area behind the front bones in the forehead. "Striatum" is a collective term for connecting several brain structures, which are part of the deep brain structure known as basal ganglia. Neostratium is a gray and white striped mass of matter located in front of thalamus in both brain hemisphere. The brain hemispheres are two halves of the brain and are divided by a line called longitudinal brain cracks.

The dorsal striatum is located above the ventral striat. The word "dorsal" means "above" or "above" and "ventral" means "below" or "below". The ventral striatum is located on the underside of the back stretch. They are individual structures that are interconnected, and both areIt consists of interconnection of other structures.

Structures called Caudate core and lentiform core or lenticular core together form dorsal striatum. Caudate core is a long curved weight of gray matter. Lentiform core consists of structures called Globus Pallidus and Putamen. Both lentiform core structures together with the Caudate core form corpus striatum or Striate points, which is also dorsal striatum.

The two structures that make up the ventral striatum are the core of the accumbens and the olfactory tubercle. Also called in the Accumbens core, Nucleus Accumbens is located at the head of the Caudate core and in front of the Putamen. Both halves of the brain contain one core accumbens, which is divided into two structures: core of the cumshin core and the core accumbens shells.

The second part of the ventral striatus, the olfactory tuberculum, is a small oomatular area found on the base of brain hemispheres. Olfactory tubercle playsa role in the olface or smell. It contains granular cells called Calleja islands. In primates, the Calleja islands are mostly in the core of accumbens, because olfactory tubercle is much smaller than in other animals.
