What are the largest prehistoric construction projects in the world?
Some could assume that one of the largest prehistoric construction projects in the world is the Great Pyramid in Giza. With a height of 146 m (481 ft), the large pyramid is truly massive and holds the title of the tallest building in the world for over 3,800 years. However, the Great Pyramid was built around 2560 BC, at least 800 years in the historical era of Egypt, which began around 3200 BCE. According to our standards, this is almost a prehistoric construction project, but not completely. The historical era is defined as the one in which the records were kept, and they were - we know that the pyramid was built for Pharaoh Khuf and probably designed by his Vizer Hemon.
Although the Egyptian historical era has begun around 3200 BCE, with many other areas in the world still missing the writing that are on the cradle. For example, around 2600 to 1900 BC, in modern Pakistan and Far West India, old civilization, civilization of the Indus valley, flourished. This civilization built large cities for thousands of people, among which they belongedCanals, temples, public baths, sewer, granaries, shipyards and warehouses. These prehistoric construction projects were considered collectively among the world's largest. Unlike many contemporary and later civilizations, however, people of Indus Valley did not build monumental structures such as temples or palaces. The largest uncovered structure is the public bath.
Another very old structure, one of the prehistoric building projects, is Silbury Hill in England, dated 2750 ± 95 BC. Massive man made hill has a diameter of 167 m (550 feet) and 40 m (131 ft) high. Its purpose is not known. Archaeologists said the hill took 18 million male hours, or 500 men who had worked for 15 years to build. It is more likely that its construction included several thousand work in shifts for at least a few decades. Thje kind of social structure that is not usually associated with the Neolithic Britain about whichIt assumes that it was mainly composed of fragmented trunks. Perhaps some elite group has gained control of a wide area and used its population to complete this amazing prehistoric building project.
