What is Chemical Production?

Chemical process, that is, chemical technology or chemical production technology, refers to the method and process of converting raw materials into products mainly through chemical reactions, including all measures to achieve this transformation. The chemical production process can be generally summarized into 3 main steps: (1) raw material processing. In order to make the raw materials meet the state and specifications required for chemical reactions, different raw materials need to undergo various different pretreatments such as purification, concentration, mixing, emulsification or pulverization (for solid raw materials) according to the specific conditions. (2) Chemical reaction. This is a key step in production. The pretreated raw materials are reacted under a certain temperature, pressure and other conditions to achieve the required reaction conversion and yield. The reaction types are various and can be oxidation, reduction, metathesis, sulfonation, isomerization, polymerization, roasting, and the like. Through the chemical reaction, the target product or a mixture thereof is obtained. (3) Product refining. The mixture obtained by the chemical reaction is separated to remove by-products or impurities to obtain a product conforming to the composition specification. Each of the above steps needs to complete the required chemical and physical transformations in specific equipment under certain operating conditions. [1]
