Steady-state concentration refers to the plasma drug concentration at a stable level after 4 to 5 half-lives.
The time to reach the steady-state concentration depends on the elimination half-life of the drug. Increasing the frequency of administration or increasing the dosage cannot make the steady-state concentration reach in advance, but can only change the total amount of drug in the body.
