What is Hypeter?
The term Hypsometer comes from two Greek words, which means "altitude meter" and usually refers to a device used to measure the height of the object. There are 3 types of hypsometer: scale, pressure and laser. The equipment is commonly used in industrial and building industries, as well as arborists who use hybometers to measure trees.
Hypsometer scale is the easiest form of this device. It consists of a L -shaped frame with a plumber or level and adjustable straight. The user focuses on the top of the object by means of direct and records the angle created between the lower frame and straight. Using the trigonometry formula, the user can calculate the height of the building or other structure.
One can also use a scale as a hySometer scale. Standing 25 feet (about 7.5 meters) from the object and holding a scale of about 25 inches (about 64 centimeters) from the eye with "0" at the bottom and aligned the szing tree or structure can notice where the upper part of the structure corresponds to the markingon the scale. 1 inch (about 2.5 centimeters) on the scale is equal to a height of 1 foot (about 0.3 meters).
The Hypsometer uses the principle that the boiling point of the liquid decreases with increasing height. It is designed using a tank filled with liquid, usually water; heating mechanism; and thermometer. By comparing the temperature at which the water is boiled with the data table, the height of the structure can be determined. The device is somewhat impractical for occasional use; It requires the use of the hysoometer at the top of the measured object and the height of this object is significant enough to provide an observable temperature difference at the boiling point.
Arborists are typical users of laser hySometer. These portable, computer equieipped devices use emitted and discouraged laser light to measure and perform calculations. The device measures the amount of time required to return the beam; Using this data together with the sensors to determine the angle calculates the heightsby the tree. It can also measure the tree diameter and calculate how much wood the tree will bring.
Hypsometer can also use other experts. For example, inspectors can use a pressure variety to determine the height above the sea level. Maintenance and building staff can also use varieties of scale or laser equipment to determine the needs of materials or work.
