What are DMX scanners?
Digital multiplex interfaces (DMX) are a type of movable light known as intelligent lighting used for stadium effects and space lighting. Scanners often contain multiple colors and tools for shaping lights such as mirrors or gobos that can create different effects and patterns. This type of light is most often considered to be an effect on the club dance floor. When the scanner is a DMX scanner, it means that it uses DMX technology to control light. Most professional stage lighting equipment uses technology called DMX-512 or DMX-512A for communication with other devices. The types of plugs on DMX devices may vary, but can be adjusted. One of the reasons why DMX technology is popular for the stage lighting is the durability of its cables. Other types of communication cables would be rapidly destroyed if they were subjected to wear common for the stage and instead of illumination of the team. Typical Setting theater lighting that DMX scanners will have tWhen other types of lights such as ellipsoidal reflector reflectors (ERS), belt lights and fresney lights to provide greater control over the lighting look.
lighting design is used in many fields, including theater and architectural lighting. DMX scanners are usually not used to design architectural lighting, a form of interior design that generally relies on lights that are fixed on site or have limited modifications such as tracking lighting. However, architectural lighting can be connected to the DMX console for the motherboard controls.
Fresnel lights are disadvantageous lights designed to create an overall lighting effect, which is often called washing. ERS lights can be used to screen concentrated light beams that can be shaped by GOBOS. Gobos are essentially lighting templates that can provide properly focused light determinethat shape when projected on the surface like a wall or floor. The belt lights are a series of lighting used to apply even paint paint on the wall or screen.
Color leaves used to color the light are called gels. In many newer DMX scanners, colored light is produced using diode (LEDs) light bulbs, which are generally lower energy and running a cooler, while the lighting designer provides a gentle degree of control over light and intensity. This type of light usually produces color using several small but powerful LED lights, often in red, green and blue, which are used in combination to control the overall color of the light output.
