What is the directional microphone?

The directional microphone is the one that captures the sound from a particular direction or from a number of directions depending on the model involved. In fact, all microphones could be considered to some extent as directional microphones. However, the directional microphone is often divided into one of the two main types, an omnidirectional microphone or a more limited version. This is a very good universal microphone used if there is no need to discriminate where the sound comes from. This type of direction microphone is very common in recording studies and even on phases where all the sound is trying to capture. Such a directional microphone can also pick up the surrounding sounds that can also be required, depending on the type of record or transmission.

Cardioid microphones are slightly more sufficient in sounds that pick up and turn into electrical signals. This type of direction microphone will pick up some sounds from the sides but its bestA more use is when the user is directly in front of the microphone. Sounds from the sides, while they can be picked up, often come very low and may not be able to clearly hear other users. Therefore, this type of microphone can be good to use in situations where no sounds from other directions are required. This includes applications such as headsets. This is one of the most popular types of microphones, probably formed by most pocket microphones on the market.

There is a different type of direction microphone called hypercardiide direction microphone. Like cardioid, the purpose of this microphone is to pick up the front sounds. Although it also picks up some sounds from the side, this microphone is even more selective than cardioid. Therefore, it makes a better choice when the outer sound is not really desirable.

The second type of microphone is a two -way microphone. This type of direction microphone works by raising the sounds right in front of it and directly behind it. In fact, it may be impossible to identify, onSuch microphones, which is the front and which is the rear. This type of microphone has some advantage especially for those who do conversations or maybe they do a duet in the recording studio. However, this microphone may not have too many cases where its use is practical.
