What is the optical patch panel?

The fiber optical panel is used to separate the fibers within the optical cable. By using one of these panels, the fibers can be connected to individual fibers on other cables, allowing cables to be exceeded and connected in different ways. In addition, the panel creates a safe environment in which it will work with exposed fibers.

There are two main types of optical fiber panels. One of them is a device mounted on a wall that can keep 12 different fibers separated from each other in its most basic form. If the optical cable has more than 12 fibers, additional fibers can be moved to the second panel or engineer can use a panel that is designed to hold multiple fibers separately. The panels on the wall can be built to hold up to 144 fibers at a time.

The second type of optical fiber panel is the panel mounted on the stand. This type of panel holds the fibers horizontally and is often designed to open like a socket. Displacement of the open panelIt provides an optical engineer of easy access to the fibers inside.

Optical engineer often uses an optical fiber panel to test fibers in an optical cable. Problems with an optical fiber cable can be placed within a single fiber when the fibers are divided apart and tested separately. The panels facilitate the organization of the fibers. In addition, working with fibers in the tray of the panel o optics protect the fibers from anything in an environment that could damage them.

The optical fiber cable must be divided into one end to access individual fibers. Separate fibers are fed to different ports, each with fibers optical adapter. These adapters can then be used to connect individual fibers to other devices.

Adapters on the optical optical fiber panel can be supplied in different shapes. In most panels, all adapters of the same type butIf there is more than one type of optical connector used in the network, it may be necessary to obtain a panel with hybrid adapters. These types of adapters can be used to connect different types of connectors on optical cables.
