What is the GPRS card?
Packet radio service (GPRS) is a type of data service used on second generation (2G) and third generation (3G). The GPRS card is a type of network card, a piece of hardware used to connect to another hardware, such as a computer or a personal digital assistant (PDA). Generally connected to a computer via a universal serial bus (USB) or portable device via a removable media card, such as the GPRS SIM card, the GPRS card can also be called a GPRS modem or GPRS adapter.
In most devices that use it the size and appearance of the GPRS card will vary depending on the hardware in which it is installed and used. If it is used primarily on one type of network, the GPRS card can be located by a 2G or 3G card. The GPRS card differs from the WiFi card because it does not connect to the Internet on the router. This type of card is connected to sending a signal from the cell towers according to the mobilukommunication company.
Three GPRS hardware classes called A, B and C. Each GPRS card is processed by the transition between voice and short messages (SMS) differently. Class A hardware can use SMS and voice simultaneously. The GPRS card that fits class B can only use SMS or voice, not at once, but switch between them automatically. Class C requires manual activation of votes and SMS services on devices.
Some mobile devices equipped with GPRS capabilities have the ability to connect to 2G and 3G and a private internet access. One example of a mobile communication device with this feature is the iPhone 3G. The function allowing the user to go to the Internet connection router is useful for mobile communication users because the router connection is usually faster than GPRS connection.
and Mobile data transfer resources, 2G is digital in the United States, 2G is more often called personal communication service (PCS). The first generation (1g) generally concerns the technology of analog mobile phones used before 2G. The successor of 2G technology is 3G technology, which is also called International Mobile Telecommunications-2000 (IMT-2000). 3G is faster technology that also allows the user to use voice capabilities simultaneously with the data network.
