What is the USB-DMX interface?
The digital multiplexed system (DMX) is a means of transferring data that is usually considered to be a computer lighting system used to control lighting. Universal Serial Bus (USB) is a standard type of interface to allow communication between two computer devices. USB-DMX is a device that uses a USB device to connect your computer to set DMX lighting, allowing the user to control the lights via the software on the computer. Unlike the conventional design console, the USB-DMX interface for lighting is smaller, cheaper and more portable.
The design of the stage is an industrial standard for connecting power lights with a control system. The first professional full -fledged lighting consoles were of large sizes and were limited by the function, but as the technology evolved, these bulky consoles have shrunk and manufacturers have added more functions than available in systems using the basic standard lighting controls and nothing else. The arrival of the USB interface for the DMX console has changed the world of lighting design by allowing a computer user to take a computer console based on lighting.
TheUSB-DMX software program has many features of professional DMX light consoles via a computer for a fraction of costs and problems with the purchase and setting of a full-fledged professional light console. For home users, you can use the basic USB-DMX settings to create advanced Christmas light controls. The high-end USB-DMX interface generally offers access to multiple DMX channels and more advanced and more detailed lighting control than the basic version of the interface. Some USB-DMX software includes this ability to portray and drive lighting in a three-dimensional plane to see what it might look like in the real world.
One disadvantage of the USB-DMX interface is that it depends on the speedand the reliability of the computer that controls it. On a dedicated system of console lighting, normal problems with computer such as viruses, hard disk problems and operating system accidents are not the main problem. When using a computer, computer problems will happen in the lighting design program, including the slowness and user error.
USB-DMX manufacturers include Nicolaudie, Chauvet and Enttec. In general, these devices come up with the controllers designed to provide user lighting over the computer. This type of system can be used for a wide range of lighting applications, including concert lighting, club lighting and stage lighting for theater production.
